For the media
We appreciate any and all inquiries from the media. You should know that, over the years, Bonnie Bucqueroux has appeared on numerous national news shows, including the PBS News Hour, MSNBC and CNN. She has authored and co-authored numerous op/ed pieces on a variety of topics.
Bucqueroux publishes Sustainable Farmer and co-publishes Lansing Online News with colleague Bill Castanier. She and Bill co-host a weekly hour-long news show on WLNZ 89.7, which is also webcast live on the Lansing Online News site.
A web pioneer, Bucqueroux built her first website in 1996, and it was featured on MSNBC's The Site with Soledad O'Brien shortly thereafter. She created the first online training course for police in 1998. She also launched the first-ever campaign blog of anyone running for Congress when she was the Green Party candidate for Michigan's 8th District in 2000.
A National Magazine Award winner in 1986, Bucqueroux has authored three previous books:
- Principles of Education: The Life and Times of E. O. Marsh - a biography of the historic educator who helped create the community college movement
- Community Policing: A Contemporary Perspective - with the late Dr. Robert Trojanowicz
- Community Policing: How To Get Started - also with the late Dr. Robert Trojanowicz
Torjanowicz and Bucqueroux published a monthly op/ed piece in the Detroit News on criminal justice issues for many years. Bucqueroux was also part of their Politics blog team, and she was responsible for the newspaper's first-ever vlog.
